Hey some really good advice here! I know all about blending, but I'd never thought about the link color.

I've never made much with Adsense, but I'm planning to get into it more and I've been reading a lot about it. What do you think about the smart pricing issue and the idea of only showing Adsense to search engine traffic? Is there any need to worry about that?

Well, You should try to change the yellow background color on your header to something else. Yellow background + White text font = Headache! :mrgreen:

Hi, this blog entry is very interesting. It somehow confirms some of the ideas I thought about AdSense and corrected some things I was doing. I have been blogging for only the last couple of months, well my AdSense earning is only at USD17.00 at the moment. I get anywhere between 80 cents-$4 per day with an average of $40.month
So it ends up taking about 3 months to get paid.

I can't seem to go any higher no matter how much traffic I get. I get about 150 unique visitors a day. I can't explain why on some days I make so little. I have tried experimenting with colors but end up going back to "blend" when I notice I'm not getting hits half through the day. I get nothing from the Referral links and nothing from Amazon - so I have removed them. I have found that kontera is now equal to Adsense. So between the 2 I am getting about $80/mo. Can't retire yet !

Some very good points here. Location is not only important as to which posts you put the ads on but also where you put the ads. Using channels in Google Adsense I have found that a 250 px box place on the left side of my post is the best performer. In second place is banner ads above and below any pictures I post.

Thanks for those good tips. I didn't know one can make money in the initial stage of blog through adsense. I was under the impression that only when you blog gets established can you make money out of adsense.

I have tried blending , and trying opposing colors to blogs , and I always end up with about the same amount of click throughs. Most times its very unpredictable. The only thing predictable is that its about $3 a day or so now.

I think the color blue is more important than a lot of people think. I settled on that for the links on my blogs. It limits design a little, but design is only a tool used to pump up usability, at least in my opinion.

I'm a hungarian guy, but I'm also a big fan of adsense.
These are good advices for a good ctr.
But if you have lot of visitors who don't like click on ads (from Digg and StumbleUpon for example) you have to join to adsense CPM solution.
Your alexa rank is very good.
